Corey Whitlatch
Ads Manager
Corey ’s career path is anything but conventional. After a decade in underground construction, Corey decided to switch his career path. While construction provided a steady living, his true passion lay in marketing, a field he studied as a hobby for years before finally taking the “terrifying” leap to pursue it full-time. Through sheer discipline and a rigorous self-taught journey, he transformed himself into a marketing expert who thrives on results rather than “fluff.”
While auditing various agencies, Corey was often frustrated by a lack of integrity in the industry, frequently finding “rookie mistakes” and prioritized profits over performance. That changed when he discovered Spectruss. In Sam and the team, he found a group of like-minded, passionate professionals who genuinely care about client success. For Corey, joining the Spectruss team was the natural next step in his mission to provide authentic, high-impact marketing.
Corey credits his years in construction for forging his unshakeable work ethic. Working in high-stress, physically demanding environments taught him the value of resilience and the importance of seamless teamwork. He carries that same grit into every marketing campaign he touches today.
When he’s not auditing accounts or crafting strategies, Corey is almost certainly outdoors. He is an avid enthusiast of anything that gets him moving, including
rock climbing, bouldering, hiking, camping, skateboarding, and paintball. For Corey, the great outdoors provides the perfect space to recharge, breathe, and find fresh perspective.
What is something people are always surprised to learn about you?
Honestly the one that comes to mind is people are always shocked by how old I am, apparently I look younger than 29? I’ll take it.
Any useless but impressive talent?
I can juggle. Self taught. Don’t even remember how or when I learned
The best advice you’ve ever gotten:
“No one cares” is powerful. Live your life freely and without fear of embarrassment, people don’t actually really care.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on so far?
I was able to come into an agency based out of Oregon who were having lots of trouble hiring an ads manager. Their clients were churning at a fast pace due to poor results. Once I joined in, I audited every account, remade both of them, and they have since grown their company tremendously.
How do you stay ahead of industry trends and innovations?
I love to read and I love to learn, so really that desire to want to know more is what drives my growth.
What do you like most about Chattanooga?
I love the outdoor community. We’re surrounded by mountains and lots of rocks to climb so there’s never a dull moment here.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I love tennis and play whenever I can. I also enjoy exploring on my motorcycle. It’s my favorite way to clear my mind and discover new places.
In another life, what would be your profession?
I would have probably been a helicopter lineman.
Movies/TV shows you would recommend.
BEST TV show is Severance on Apple TV. It’s a must watch.
What was the first concert you’ve ever seen?
I got to see my favorite childhood band, Asking Alexandria. They actually were on tour and came through Chattanooga!
Favorite food?
I loooove a good burger.
Top bucket list item?
To climb at Yosemite National Park, specifically El Capitan; same mountain Alex Honnold free solo’d.
