Karlo, born and raised in Croatia, holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka. He began teaching himself web development in 2009 and has since dedicated his career to WordPress projects. What inspired you to start your career in marketing/advertising?
My journey into web development was inspired by a mix of curiosity and the thrill of creating something from scratch. I started tinkering with HTML and CSS, and before I knew it, I was hooked. The ability to build functional, visually appealing sites that others could interact with was incredibly rewarding.
What do you enjoy most about working at Spectruss?
What I love most about working at Spectruss is being around such awesome team members. We get to work on really cool projects, and it’s amazing to see how our efforts help our clients’ businesses grow and succeed.
How do you stay ahead of industry trends and innovations?
As a WordPress developer, I stay ahead of industry trends and innovations by following tech blogs, joining online communities, and participating in webinars and conferences. I also experiment with new plugins, themes, and tools to keep my skills sharp and up-to-date. Regularly contributing to and reviewing projects on GitHub helps me learn from other developers and stay informed about the latest developments in the WordPress world.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on so far?
My favorite project so far has been working on our business site. It’s a blast because we can go all in and experiment with the newest features and design elements. It gives us the freedom to be creative and try out cutting-edge ideas without any constraints.
When you’re not working, what are your favorite hobbies?
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and traveling with them. But when I get the chance, I’m a die-hard fisherman. There’s nothing like being out on the water, relaxing, and trying to catch the big one.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
One fun fact about me is that I used to play handball, and I was the goalkeeper.
In another life, what would be your profession?
In another life, I’d probably be a fishing guide. It would be amazing to spend my days out on the water, sharing my passion for fishing with others, and helping them reel in their own big catches.

What was the first concert you’ve ever seen?
The first concert I ever attended was a “Klapska pjesma” performance, it’s the the traditional Croatian music.
Favorite food?
Pizza – There’s something about a hot, cheesy slice that makes everything better.
Top bucket list item?
My top bucket list item is to hit Florida and catch as many different game fish species as I can. It’d be awesome to explore all the fishing spots and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
